Café Special Decaf - Community Coffee Review

First stop on the decaf coffee train is straight out of Louisiana, none other than Community Coffee’s Café Special Decaf. I have eyed this coffee up in our local store for a while and knew that it had to make it to review this month.

Community Coffee describes this blend as roasted to “a medium-dark color [designed] to bring out notes of caramel and cocoa…” I was pleased to know that some of the sweetness I tasted in this coffee aligned with their roasting visions for it.

When brewed, it smells like the perfect balance of medium and dark roasts. It has depth and a rich coffee and honey aroma that wakes up your senses better than most caffeine blends.

I smelled the honey, but didn’t see that come through in flavor. Instead I got more of a molasses flavor. This contributed nicely to the medium-dark roast and helped to highlight the natural flavors of the beans without being overly sweet.

This is a smooth drinker, wasn’t bitter, and left me feeling both energized and refreshed as my caffeine replacement. I was pleased to see such a well rounded cup of coffee - from aroma to flavor - that didn’t compromise on the freshness.

If you want to try some decaf coffee but aren’t sure where to start, Community Coffee’s Café Special Decaf is the perfect blend for you. Its sweet flavors and darker roast are adaptable to your sweetness preferences, or ready to get you fired up as is. However you drink your coffee, you can’t go wrong with this bag (plus it comes in K-Cups).

Cheers,

Mrs. Brew
