Jacked O’Lantern Pumpkin Spice - Bones Coffee Review
We all know that the start of fall means every coffee shop in town is breaking out their pumpkin spice. And we could not expect to honestly try Bones Coffee’s Fall Favorites lineup without thoroughly reviewing the Jacked O’Lantern – Bones’ haunting Pumpkin Spice.
Right away, the pumpkin is the strongest aroma, followed by a touch of cinnamon and a punch of nutmeg. Once brewed to our usual specs in the French press (32 oz of 202℉° water, 50g of grounds, steep 3-5 minutes) we notice an active bloom. The pumpkin is still a forward aroma, but once we sipped into this spiced delicacy, the pumpkin becomes more subdued and is replaced by a forward nutmeg spice. There is a slightly bready note mixing in the aroma, but I do not taste it. The strong nutmeg coats the mouth and warms the palate and the pumpkin lingers to soften the spice before the next sip.
What I really like about Jacked O’Lantern is that the pumpkin and spice does not taste artificial, it tastes well balanced, creamy, and spicy – just what I would expect from the experts of flavored coffees.
If you are a fan of pumpkin spice coffee but want to brew it at home and without all the added sugars that come with a latte, Jacked O’Lantern is what you need! It has all the pumpkin and spice you could desire. And, you can always add a splash of milk if you want to.
Cheers,
Mrs. Brew
