Post Alley - Seattle’s Best Review

Calling all French roast fans! Here in the Brew household we definitely have an affinity for the darker qualities of coffee roasting. And French roast is as dark as it gets.

After enjoying Seattle’s Best 6th Avenue Bistro, we took home another blend: Post Alley Dark Roast. Actually a French roast, this brew is dark, smoky, and bold. The aroma is smoky and earthy, revealing the depth of roasting the beans underwent. In flavor, the smoky notes coat the mouth and are backed by a medium to full body.

Taking the darker qualities of Post Alley, we blended it with some of the sweeter coffees in the cabinet to create a well-balanced cup of coffee that still has some bold and smoky flavors, but doesn’t linger unpleasantly.

We also added some chai spices to create an at-home chai in the French press and found that they helped balance some of the smokier notes of Post Alley.

Whether you like the dense smoky flavors of a French roast, or you want to add a bit of depth to balance your sweet coffees, Post Alley is worth a brew (or two).

Cheers,

Mrs. Brew
